Preventing a Lockdown Generation in Europe and Central Asia: Building resilient societies with young people in the era of COVID-19

The regional report “Preventing a Lockdown Generation in Europe and Central Asia: Building Resilient societies with young people in the era of COVID-19” is the result of joint collaboration between the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (UNICEF ECARO), the European Training Foundation (ETF) and GEYC, who was in charge of the qualitative data collection and analysis.
This report builds on wide consultations with more than 15,000 adolescents and young people from Europe and Central Asia covering, among others, their feelings about lockdown restrictions, access and participation in education, learning outcomes and the quality of teaching, as well as their views on mobility, entrepreneurship and participation. When it comes to the future, the report captures young people’s hopes and fears about deep changing societies and economies.

As part of EUthwork Erasmus Plus project we have led a youth work mapping of the youth work conditions and practices in the participating countries: Estonia, France, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Empowering civil society organizations to work with refugees

Over the past few years around 66 million people were forced to leave their home due to conflicts, wars, natural disasters and persecution - approximately one of every 113 people on the planet. Only in the first half of 2017, over 105.000 refugees and migrants arrived to Europe. After crossing international borders their future was unknown. Thus, there was a clear need of support and assistance to refugees and asylum- seekers so they adopt in the hosting countries and build their future.

"The Role of Youth in Re-imagining Integration in Europe; Channels to Social Inclusion and Equality for all" is a training course that took place in Manchester between 1-7 february 2016. The main purpose of this project was to encourage young people to create a much more equal and inclusive Europe.

Call for participants: Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era (8-12 February 2016, Platres, Cyprus)

Future Worlds Center is inviting youth from all over Europe to participate in a global initiative that aims to reinvent a new system of governance by proposing new and innovative actions. The initiative aims to engage youth in both physical and virtual meetings with the first physical meeting taking place in Cyprus in February 2016. The initiative is supported by United Nations Democracy Fund.

Symposium on youth participation in a digitalised world


For 3 days – 14-16 September 2015 the opportunity of joining the Symposium on Youth Participation in a Digitalized World organized by the EU-CoE youth partnership at the European Youth Centre Budapest has been offered to me and I must confess, that it was an amazing event, that made me realize how strong the connection between youth workers, policy makers and researchers must be, so that the results of future programmes to come up to the needs of young people.

In order to raise awareness about the European Year of Development, AMSED is organasing European Photo Rally. The best photos will be displayed on the exhibition that AMSED will organise during European Festival, in May 2015. The photographer of the most voted photo will have the chance to participate in a Training Course, in June 2015, in Strasbourg.
