STATEMENT. Mariya Gabriel (European Commission): "Youth with a higher level of digital skills were less affected by the COVID19 pandemic"

Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth since 2019 in an interview mentioned the European Commission plans to support digital education, not only in the frame of formal education but also in the nonformal sector.

As already presented in the Next Generation EU plan for 2021-2027, the European Commission plans to allocate a 2-3 times higher budget for the successor of the Erasmus+ programme and to introduce a virtual exchange possibility in the youth field.
