Peace education in Romania versus the European Union

The 21st century has seen the rise of conflicts, whether armed, psychological or of other nature, which inevitably led to a human rights crisis like never before. Sustainable, lasting peace and security can only be attained when all human rights are fulfilled and building and maintaining a culture of peace is a shared challenge for humankind. Therefore, the subject of peace education has become more and more important in the wider field of education, because it promotes the development of people and society in a peaceful way, based on the principles of harm, tolerance, equality, respect for social justice and social justice.

Memorial Walk through the Communist Bucharest

The Long Term Training Course "Promoting Diversity and Inclusive Youth Work Practices" was intended for youth workers, youth trainers and facilitators who are ready to work on the topics of diversity, inclusion and anti-discrimination in order to activate the potential of diversity in trainings and work with young people both at National and the European levels.

The Training Course „No more time 4 hate”, which took place in Torremolinos (Málaga area), Spain, between 24th and 31st of May 2018, was not just an occasion to interact with different people, but also an opportunity to „change the world”, as our participants told us.

TC From inner peace to social progress, Merzouga, Morocco

The TC "From inner peace to social progress" took place during the 3rd - 10th of May 2018 in Merzouga, Morocco, and gathered 36 participants from countries as Romania, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, United Kingdom, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Portugal. GEYC team was represented by Cristiana and Elisabeta, the two participants, that attended the training together with Anca and Gabriel, the trainers of the project.

TC "Looking for PIP- Peer Impower", Malaga, Spain

Timp de 8 zile, între 28 aprilie și 6 mai, în însorita Malaga, trei membre GEYC au luat parte la un training ce a avut drept teme principale egalitatea de gen și rolul acesteia în leadership, prin identificarea modalităților care să încurajeze depășirea prejudecăților și să genereze conștientizarea necesității de a ne schimba optica în privință felului în care ne raportăm la rolurile de gen, atât în viață cotidiană, cât și în spațiul destinat muncii.

On the 15th of April GEYC has organized the Conference on Communication Strategies for Youth NGOs promoting Peace and Human Rights. The event was part of the KA2 Strategic Partnership, TURN Online, which is aiming to bring digitalization closer to youth organizations promoting peace and human rights.

România se alătură inițiativei ”Young Digital Leaders” / Romania is now joining Young Digital Leaders


RO: Google și ISD sunt de părere că tinerii trebuie să joace un rol activ în a crea o comunitate online amuzantă, pozitivă și energică. Ne dorim să dezvoltăm competențele necesare pentru ca tinerii să facă cele mai bune decizii în mediul online. Ne referim astfel la a-i învăța cum să devină lideri digitali, nu doar niște simpli cetățeni -- să știe cum să răspundă troll-ilor din mediul online și când și unde să solicite ajutor.

EN: Google and ISD believe that young people should learn to be upstanders, not bystanders in order to create a fun, positive and vibrant community online. We want to equip young people with the necessary skills so that they can be empowered to make the right choices online. This means learning how to be a digital leader, not just citizen -- to know how to respond to trolls online, and when and where to go for help. 

Study - Usage of digital tools by youth NGOs promoting peace and Human Rights

Within our KA2 Strategic Partnership, TURN ONline, a project whose aim is to sustain digitalization within youth organizations promoting peace and human rights, GEYC has started in December 2017 a research on the usage of digital tools by youth NGOs promoting peace and human rights.

Organisation in Special consultative status with the United Nations - Economic and Social Council since 2023. A member of the PRISMA European Network.
