Story: On top of the cultural tide

GEYC took part in the project "Wall on the high tide", an European exchange held between 16th and 24th July 2014, in Gdansk, Poland involving young people from Poland, Turkey and Romania.

The main objective of this project was to debate upon the differences between cultures, to find similarities and also to raise awareness regarding the importance of cultural diversity .

GEYC organized together with +Youthfully Yours Gr a training course on communication, social media and active engagement in Perea, Greece. The activity was called YISE (Youth initiatives for Social Engagement) and was funded with the support of "Youth in action" program. Here you can see a video report of this training.

Campania SMARTER: implică-te și tu la nivel local!


GEYC lansează un apel de selecție de parteneri locali pentru organizarea Campaniei SMARTER (Social Media Academy: Raising Teen Employability Resources), care își propune să încurajeze tinerii cu vârste cuprinse între 13 și 30 de ani din România să folosească instrumentele oferite de rețelele sociale pentru a reuși să obțină în viitor locul de muncă dorit.

Call for 2 Romanian participants: European training course in Turkey / May 2014

GEYC is selecting 2 Romanian participants to take part in the "Gap's New Face: women" European project that will take place in Urfa, Turkey, from 5th until 11th of May 2014. This is a training course aimed at addressing the causes for women’s low rate of employment and women’s poor social inclusion.

About the project
The project aims to empower the participants to implement employability projects at local level by using social media tools.

Objectives:
O1. Enabling participants to use social media tools for the communication, promotion and management of their projects aiming to raise employment of young people;
O2. Stimulating participants to share their personal and professional practices in using social media in youth work through teamwork and networking;
O3. Raising the employability of the participants through improving social media skills and through personal branding;
O4. Promoting the European cooperation in the youth field by the use of social media.

Organizers
The project is organized by GEYC - Group of the European Youth for Change (Romania) as applicant together with GEYC Resources Center and 13 European partner organisations from France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Croatia, Lithuania, Iceland and Turkey.
The project is financed by the European Commission through "Youth in action" programme.

GEYC is selecting 4 Romanian participants to take part in the "Facts and Dreams" European project that will take place in Isparta, Turkey, from 5th until 10th of August 2014. This is a training course aimed to train youth workers to become trainers and provide them with the theory, skills and tools necessary to design implement and evaluate effective training programmes themselves in order to generate optimum learning outcomes and improved performance.

Happening in Romania: More than 200 teachers take a volunteer engagement to promote digital competencies as a way to tackle youth unemployment

As part of SMYLE European project, GEYC has invited Romanian teachers to set up seminars and campaigns at local level in order to raise awareness among young people (13-30) and other stakeholders regarding the critical importance of digital skills to smooth the path to the labour market.
