On November 4th, 2023, Bucharest hosted an event that brought together 65 young people, youth workers, NGO representatives, and teachers for a five-hour exploration of the NGO sector's potential. The event aimed to inspire young Romanians to consider NGO careers, an often-overlooked path.
The day started with registration and networking, with diverse participants from high schools, universities, and NGOs. The first activity introduced the KA2 Erasmus+ project Get to know the NGO sector. Be the change (Causeland), offering insights into the NGO world, the Causeland step-by-step guide for establishing an NGO, the Causeland Ambassadors results and the Causeland board game, with ten copies to be awarded later.
A panel discussion on digital youth work featured Adelina Dragomir (Head of Entrepreneurship & Employability @GEYC), Alex Crăciun (Community catalyst @intrevecini), and Cristina Danovschi (Senior learning developer @UIpath), emphasizing digital inclusion, accessibility, and the importance of choosing the right digital tools when working with young people from all backgrounds and contexts.
Participants then explored digital tools in a world cafe format, focusing on Kahoot, presentations, short-form video content, and digital inclusion and accessibility, experiencing these tools while interacting with 4 facilitators.
In the final session, participants shared their perspectives on "Civil Society as a Career Path" in a Foresight 2030 format, discussing the current situation and forecasting 2030 scenarios.
The event concluded with a raffle, offering 10 attendees copies of the Causeland board game to be used in their work.
The day ended with a shared lunch, providing opportunities for networking and discussions about the NGO sector's career potential. The event left attendees inspired and informed about career paths within NGOs.
This was a multiplier event in the frame of the Get to know the NGO sector. Be the change Erasmus+ project, co-financed by the European Union.
