Launching Our New KA220-YOU Erasmus+ Project: Eco-patrols - Boost Its Green Goals

We are happy to announce our new KA220-YOU – Cooperation partnerships in youth: Eco-patrols – Boost its Green Goals (2025-1-HR01-KA220-YOU-000361087).

The Eco-patrols project focuses on strengthening environmental awareness and empowering young people to take an active role in shaping a sustainable future. Coordinated by Argonauta (Croatia), the project brings together partner organizations from Romania (GEYC), Spain (Brujula Intercultural) , North Macedonia (Zdruzenje Na Gragani Kreator Kumanovo), and Greece (Entrepreneurship And Social Economy Group) to jointly enhance non-formal environmental education across Europe. Between the 27th -30th of November, the partners met for the Kick-off Meeting in Athens, Greece, where we discussed the following steps.

The project aims to improve the way young people engage with environmental issues by expanding the Eco-patrol (EP) method, introducing modern environmental concepts, and integrating digital tools. Through intercultural collaboration and hands-on learning, Eco-patrols will inspire youth to become active citizens capable of responding to local and global environmental challenges.

What is the goal?

We aim to empower young people to:
  • Build knowledge and skills in environmental protection.
  • Engage in local eco-initiatives and community-based actions.
  • Use digital tools and educational resources to advocate for sustainability.
  • Participate in intercultural learning by connecting with peers across Europe.
Over the next 24 months (Oct 2025 – Sep 2027), the project will pursue a set of intended learning and developmental objectives:
  • Enhance non-formal environmental education by expanding and upgrading the Eco-patrol method with modern environmental topics and digital tools.
  • Empower youth, youth workers, and organizations across the EU to engage in sustainability-focused actions and civic activism.
  • Boost local youth engagement by piloting Eco-patrol programs in multiple communities and supporting practical environmental actions.
  • Build long-term capacity among partner organizations to foster sustainable practices and environmental leadership.
  • Create a strong international Eco-patrol network committed to collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and replication of the Eco-patrol approach.
How will we achieve this?

The project includes a comprehensive set of activities designed to support young people, youth workers, and local communities:
  • Development of an extended Eco-patrol manual.
  • Upgrade of the Mobile Eco-game, improving both content and usability.
  • Implementation of pilot Eco-patrol programs in 5 communities, involving 100 young participants.
  • Capacity-building for 100 youth workers, educators, and teachers in using the EP method.
  • Mentoring to support the delivery of 20 Eco-patrol modules.
  • Guidance and support for EP groups to organize 5 eco-actions.
  • Formation of the Eco-patrol Network of committed organizations.
  • Design and launch of the Eco-patrol digital platform.
  • A dedicated Eco-patrol social media campaign to raise visibility.
  • Production of a knowledge transfer, replication, and networking plan.

What impact do we expect?

By the end of the project, Eco-patrols – Boost its Green Goals will produce:
  • An expanded Eco-patrol manual.
  • An upgraded Mobile Eco-game.
  • Real environmental actions carried out by young people in partner communities.
  • A fully established international Eco-patrol network.
  • A digital EP platform supporting long-term collaboration.
  • A social media campaign to promote environmental awareness.
  • A replication and networking plan, along with policy recommendations.

Together, these outcomes will significantly strengthen the partners’ capacity for international cooperation in environmental education and push youth-focused sustainability learning to the next level.
