Crossroads Knowledge Forum: Empowering young voices for global change

From February 17th to 20th, 2025, young people and project coordinators from 4 different countries came together in Aveiro, Portugal for the Knowledge Forum as part of the Crossroads project. This project focuses on experiential learning, a hands-on way to explore how different global issues connect, especially for young people from marginalized backgrounds, including refugees and migrants.

The forum was all about learning from each other. Young people with different experiences came together to share ideas and work on ways to make a real impact with the project we are working on. Through different activities and discussions, we explored how our shared experiences and values can help us work towards positive change in our communities and beyond, but also in the project. One other big focus was the European identity, what it means, how it connects us and how we can use it to solve global challenges.

One of the most powerful moments of the forum was a hands-on activity in Frossos, a place that was affected by a forest fire in September 2024. Together with the local community, we helped restore and revitalize the area, connecting with nature and making an actual positive impact through actions.

What’s Next?

The Crossroads project is all about empowering young people to take action on global issues. The Knowledge Forum was just one step in the journey, as the next Solidarity Forum in Romania in May will focus on enhancing the solidarity and sustainability of the project beyond its duration.

Crossroads is building a brighter future for all, toghether with our partners from: France- Rokonto, Ireland- Blackwater Training and Consulting and Portugal- DCTR - Associacao Cultural

We’re excited to keep learning, growing and making a difference together. 💙
