Sustainable NGOs Final Conference: A Step Forward in Green Action within the Youth Sector

On December 5th, the Final Conference of the Sustainable NGOs KA2 Project took place in Portorož, Slovenia, bringing together different stakeholders and youth leaders from across Europe and beyond to highlight the project's achievements and share insights on sustainability within the youth sector. 

Together with our partners from Spain, Interpreta Natura and from Slovenia, Izo Institute, we celebrated the results of our efforts. The conference also had the goal of being a platform for sharing best practices, sustainable strategies and promoting collaboration between organizations and youth leaders.

 

The conference had two workshops designed to empower attendees and enhance their green skills. These workshops were open to all, offering the flexibility of both in-person and online participation.

• Workshop 1: Sustainable Lifestyle – Where we explored ways to incorporate sustainable practices into everyday life, from reducing waste to energy efficiency.
• Workshop 2: Sustainable Practices in NGOs – We focused on how non-governmental organizations can adopt and implement sustainable practices, both internally and in their community and why it is important.

Here's what we’ve achieved:

• A Sustainability Guide for Youth NGOs that includes recommendations for sustainability of organizations.
• The Sustainable NGOs Academy, online modules where anyone can develop your green skills and receive the e-Certificate
• A Carbon Footprint calculator for NGOs, a tool for measuring the degree of environmental sustainability of organizations
• The Sustainable NGOs Research Report on how the Youth NGOs see and practice sustainability
• The Thirsty for Solution Campaign where we aim to bring free drinkable water in the public spaces in Romania, starting with the main airpot in Bucharest, Henri Coandă.
• 3 Regional Seminars in Romania, one at EFdeN, one under the umberlla of EDYS Green Track Workhop and another one in partnership with Auchan at the Auchan Headquarters

The Sustainable NGOs project aims to raise awareness of climate change and environmental challenges in accordance with European and global strategic frameworks within the youth sector.
