TPM UP2NEB (18-19 November, Leiden, Netherlands)

On November 18-19, 2024, the UP2NEB consortium came together for its second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM), this time in Leiden, Netherlands. This meeting marked a significant milestone in the development of the project, which aims to empower youth workers from the EU's peripheral areas by equipping them with updated skills and practical learning resources aligned with the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative.

As part of this 3-year KA2 cooperation partnership, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, the meeting was not just a chance to review progress, but also an opportunity to foster creativity, share insights, and set clear goals for the months ahead. Over the course of two productive days, the consortium members achieved several key outcomes that will guide the project towards its next phase.

Key highlights from the meeting

Review of the past few months

The meeting began with a comprehensive review of what had been achieved since the last gathering. This allowed the consortium to assess progress on the various workstreams, celebrate successes, and identify any challenges that needed to be addressed.

Sharing lessons learned from the Living Labs

One of the core components of UP2NEB is the establishment of Living Labs, experimental learning environments where youth, youth workers and stakeholders could test new methodologies and resources in real-world settings, reflecting on aesthetics, sustainability and inclusion. During the TPM, participants had the opportunity to share their experiences from these Living Labs, discussing what worked well and what could be improved. These insights will play a crucial role in refining the project's approach and ensuring its relevance and impact.

Updates on communication and dissemination

Effective communication is vital to the success of any European project. The consortium took time to update each other on the progress of the communication and dissemination strategy, sharing tools and best practices for engaging with a wider audience. These discussions highlighted the importance of reaching out to both youth workers and broader communities, ensuring the project's resources and findings have lasting impact.

Quality assurance insights

As part of the ongoing quality assurance process, the consortium discussed the insights gathered so far. This reflection allowed them to align their activities with the highest standards and ensure that the project outputs meet the needs of the target audience. Ensuring the quality of the training materials and methodologies being developed for youth workers remains a top priority for the project.

Reflection on the training programme framework

A major focus of UP2NEB is the development of a comprehensive training programme for youth workers, aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills to support the implementation of the New European Bauhaus principles and work with young people in their local communities. The consortium members took the opportunity to reflect on the framework for this training, discussing its structure, content, and how it can be most effectively delivered to youth workers across Europe.

Collaborative workshop: co-creating the training methodology

One of the most exciting parts of the meeting was a collaborative workshop where project partners began co-creating the training methodology. This hands-on session allowed members to brainstorm, share ideas, and start shaping the practical approach to delivering the training programme. Through this co-creation process, the consortium ensured that the methodology would be relevant, inclusive, and impactful.

Planning the Pan-European Conference on Digital Education

Looking ahead, one of the key upcoming events for UP2NEB is the Pan-European Conference on Digital Education. This conference will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, discussing innovations, and exploring the intersection of digital education and the New European Bauhaus. The consortium set the groundwork for this event during the meeting, deciding on dates and initial planning steps.

Deciding on future meetings and deadlines

Finally, the consortium set the dates for upcoming meetings and agreed on deadlines for each partner's contributions. Clear timelines are essential for ensuring that the project stays on track and that all activities are completed on schedule.
