About the project:
Rapid technological changes have brought in reality some overestimated new social needs like constant social media interaction. The use of social media has become integral to our daily routine and only few people are aware of the negative consequences of this action in social, physical and mental field. Social detox is an initiative to explain to partners the contemporary problem which slowly is taking worrying dimensions, social media addiction. There will be 42 participants in total, one group of six people each aged from 16 to 27 years old, each group acting on behalf of these countries: Turkey, Belgium, Greece, Lithuania, Italy, Czech Republic and Romania.
Using many activities, we will try to explain to these participants that they should not confuse reality with virtual reality. The use of social media and also in some extension the use of technological devices such as smartphones, tablets, ipads etc, expect lack of body movement, body stability. This is why we will try to organize some sport activities in our timetable which will spot the difference between doing something with and without any body motion. Other activities which will take place are presentations, cultural visits, cultural nights where all participant countries will show their culture and present their country, activities between participants which will give them the chance to talk and discuss about the subject and conversations with which participants will make clear which is the right and healthy way of using the social media without becoming addicted. At the end, there also will be a drama (flash mob) workshop which will give participants the opportunity to show their drama and theatrical- creativity skills and last but not least a flash mob in the city center and university gate in the final day of project aiming to sensitize the effect of social media addiction to other people and other habitants.

by 20 January 2015: selection of participants, notifications and confirmations (paying the participation fee - please notice that the participation fee is non-reimbursable)
Note: if you won't receive an e-mail by 20 January 2016, it means that we found other suitable candidates for this project.
Financial details:
The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission:
- 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs;
- Transport cost up to 170 EUR per participants (Note: the reimbursement will be done after the project by bank transfer)
Participants will be required to cover:
- a participation fee covering administrative costs for this project (the fee will be paid in RON, by bank transfer; the fee will be paid after the participants are selected). Please don't pay any fee before you receive the confirmation e-mail): 135 RON (30 EURO) for GEYC Community (please note that for this call we will consider the members that joined the Community before 24 December 2015) applicants and 225 RON (50 EUR) for other applicants (GEYC active volunteers are not required to pay the participation fee); The fee is calculated at a fixed exchage rate (EUR=4.5 RON)
- 20 EUR fee to the organisers in Turkey only if you exceed 150 EUR regarding your transport, if you will stay below 150 EUR, you will not pay 20 EUR;
- (if needed) transport cost - the amount exceeding 170 EUR
- (if needed) medical insurance;
- (if needed) any other personal costs.
Relevant information
- In order to start their travel, Romanian participants should own a valid passport.
- Arrangements regarding medical insurance are the responsibility of the participants.
- In order to be reimbursed, Romanian participants should start their travel from Romania.
- Please make sure you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of GEYC European mobility programs before you apply
- The refund for the travel will be made by bank transfer to GEYC Association, when the original tickets and boarding passes (for the way back home) will arrive to the organisers in Turkey (by post or by e-mail). GEYC will also transfer to all the participants.
- Bring: typical food/drinks, music from Romania, pictures etc. to present at the Intercultural Night
