GEYC is selecting 4 Romanian participants to take part in the “Job Up” European project that will take place in Geraci Siculo (Sicily, Italy), from 8th until 13th of June 2015. This training course aims to boost participants employability and to prepare them to react towards unemployment.

About the project
The project aim of "JobUp" is to make youth workers aware about the challenges of youth unemployment at national and International level, in order them useful tools which could be used to react to unemployment while working with young generations. Moreover, through non formal methods, JobUp will involve and motivate them to be ready to face the actual economical situation in the work environment. Day by day, they will learn in peer cooperation to be more positive and creative in order to invest in themselves and in their cultural background by exploiting their creativity and entrepreneurship. Participants, involved at each stage of the project, will be more aware about the importance of the European citizenship, the Erasmus+ Program and the opportunity they had of being part of such wonderful experience, which could make the difference at the time when they will coach young people while looking for a job or decide to build their own business. The project will assess the effectiveness of employment creation strategies, examine the vocational education system and their contribution to enhance capacity of youth employment, review the policy framework and strategies for improving conditions for self employment and decent work. The knowledge generated will be used to make young participants learn from each other on the ways and means of handing youth unemployment problem. Result of the project will be a Guideline in English which will contain useful advises to be shared at global level.

Timeline
- until 22th of March 2015: submitting the application form;
- by 31st of March: selection of participants, notifications and confirmations (paying the participation fee - please notice that the participation fee is non-reimbursable);
- by 10th of April: arranging the travel details (please be ready to cover your travel costs: at the moment of the call, the cheaper return flight to Palermo costs 187 EUR, and the transfer Palermo-Geraci Siculo costs 50 EUR/person (both ways); however we expect a price increase of 20-30 EUR by the moment of purchase, feel free to check geyc.ro/flights for the current price level). GEYC will support you throughout the booking process and the reimbursement procedure;
- between 8th and 13th of June: the training course takes place: enjoy the culture of Italy, intercultural exchange and enhance your knowledge about unemployment and employability.
Selection criteria
- Personal and professional motivation;
- Gender balance;
- Age: no age limit;
- Fluent English level;
- GEYC volunteers and GEYC Community applicants will have priority to participate;

Financial details
- 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs;
- Transport cost up to 275 EUR per participant.
Participants will be required to cover:
- a participation fee covering administrative costs for this project (the fee will be paid in RON, by bank transfer at the exchange rate given by the ING Bank for the day of payment; the fee will be paid after the participants are selected. Please don't pay any fee before you receive the confirmation e-mail): 50 EUR for GEYC Community (please note that for this call we will consider the members that joined the Community before March, 11th, 2015) applicants and 80 EUR for other applicants (GEYC active volunteers are not required to pay the participation fee);
- transport cost- only the amount exceeding 275 EUR;
- (if needed) medical insurance;
- (if needed) any other personal costs.
Relevant information
- In order to start their travel, Romanian participants should own a valid ID card or passport.
- Arrangements regarding medical insurance are the responsibility of the participants.
- In order to be reimbursed, Romanian participants should start their travel from Romania.
- Please make sure you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of GEYC European mobility programs before you apply.
- Schedule of activities, please note that the Romanian participants will prepare and deliver the session called "Dressing for Success - What to wear on an Interview" mentioned in the schedule;
