GEYC is selecting 3 Romanian participants to take part in
the "Let’s do it guerrilla way" European project that will take place
in Aveiro, Portugal, from 24th of November until 4th of December 2014. This is
a training course in the framework of Erasmus+ program (KA1).

The main goal of this TC is to discuss two important issues.
The first is - how NGOs can use innovative marketing methodologies to draw
attention to some problems in their local community (ex. environmental, social,
economic or other). The second one is how NGOs can generally empower regarding
PR and media related issues. By doing this, our intention is to improve the
quality of youth work, using innovation and creativity, improving communication
skills (developing creativity in communication, marketing for NGOs, how to use
guerrilla marketing in non profits). All these together as a result should
multiply the impact of NGOs' activities and work. Another issue will be public
and media relations of nonprofits, in order to make nonprofits more interesting
to media. Methodology used in TC will be diverse, combining non formal and
informal methods. Program of this TC has been created in order to guarantee a
high quality of learning process and stimulate creativity and participation.
Interactive sessions will be organized as workshops, role plays, round tables
and some open air activities to complement. We will host and visit experts from
areas above to give us new points of view. Besides, participants will be stimulated
daily to share their ideas and go one step ahead and take initiatives during
the process of learning.

Timeline
- until 14th of September - submitting the online applications at maria.albulescu@geyc.ro;
- until 19th of September - selection of participants, notifications and confirmations (paying the participation fee - please notice that the participation fee is non-reimbursable);
- after 19th of September: organizers will arrange the travel details (please be ready to cover your travel costs: at the moment of the call, the cheaper return flight to Lisbon costs 215 EUR, however we expect a price increase of 20-30 EUR by the moment of purchase, feel free to check http://www.airfrance.com for the current price level). GEYC will support you throughout the booking process and the reimbursement procedure;
- 24th of November-4th of December: the training course takes place: enjoy Portuguese culture, intercultural exchange and enhance your knowledge about marketing and PR for NGOs.
- Must be youth workers, project coordinators and/or volunteers.
Please notice that this call is only for Romanian participants.

- GEYC volunteers and GEYC Community applicants will have priority to participate;
The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission:
- 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs;
- transport cost up to 360 euro per participant.
Participants will be required to cover:
- a participation fee covering administrative costs for this project (the fee will be paid in RON, by bank transfer at the exchange rate given by the ING Bank for the day of payment; the fee will be paid after the participants are selected. Please don't pay any fee before you receive the confirmation e-mail): 50 EUR for GEYC Community (please note that for this call we will consider the members that joined the Community before September 4th, 2014) applicants and 80 EUR for other applicants (GEYC active volunteers are not required to pay the participation fee);
- extra cost for transport (the amount exceeding 360 EUR).

Relevant information
- In order to travel to Portugal, Romanian participants should own a valid ID card or passport.
- Arrangements regarding medical insurance are the responsibility of the participants;
- In order to be reimbursed, Romanian participants should travel to Portugal only from Romania.
