Call for Romanian participants for a training course on active participation of young people - Finland

GEYC is searching 3 Romanian participants to take part in ”PRAXIS - Giving young people the opportunity”, a training course organized in the frame of ”Youth in action” program from 25th of November until 1st of December 2013 in Konnevesi, Finland.

Praxis is a training for youth workers and young people with the aim to increase the understanding of participation and how young people can be involved in all the stages of the project.

Background 
Young people are the best experts in their projects, they know what their own needs are and what project is really if interest to them. Youth workers / leaders should not patronize young people, but they should empower them to realize their capability of making choices, ideas and really act to achieve goals. With the small steps and great coaching youngsters will realize. All we need is the “I can do this!” attitude. Besides you learn about coaching you also get better understanding how your organization can benefit more through Youth In Action.
Praxis also increase the quality your management of youth projects.

Methods
Sketches, Discussion, Situation games, Reflection, Debriefing, Group work and other Non formal methods.

Aims 
- To increase the understanding of what participation and young people is all about
- To understand better how a group of young people works
- To understand the different stages of a project and project management
- To acquire tools to increase the participation of young people in their own projects
- To help young people come up with their own projects
- To understand the role of coaching a youth in action project
- To learn more about Youth in Action as a tool for your organization
- To understand better the characteristic of Non formal education

Participants profile
- able to communicate in English;
- over 18 years old;
- interested in improving their capacity of managing youth projects;
- location: being in Romania at the moment they start the travel for this project;

Financial conditions 
If you are selected for this project, you will receive a grant covering the following costs: 
- 100% of accommodation; 
- 100% of meals; 
- 100% of activities, materials and training; 
- 70% of the cheapest transport costs, up to a limit of 550 EUR/person for the total cost (you need to advance the travel costs amount and you will be reimbursed 70% after you provide all justifying documents); 

A participation fee (15 EUR for GEYC Community applicants and 25 EUR for other applicants) covering administrative costs for this project will be paid by each participant (the fee will be paid in RON, by bank transfer at the exchange rate given by the Romanian National Bank (BNR) for the day of payment; the fee will be paid after the participants are selected. Please don't pay any fee before you receive the confirmation e-mail.

Timeline 
- until 15th of September - submitting applications
- until 1st of October - selection of participants, notifications, confirmations & participation fee payment; 
- until 5th of October - purchasing travel tickets and submitting participant's individual data (dietary and medical requirements); 
- November 25th to December 1st- activities take place; 
- until 15th of December - participants are required to submit three photos and an article to describe the project for GEYC's website to office@geyc.ro;
