YES: Youth Engagement and Employability for Success through Social Entrepreneurship is an Erasmus+ project, co-funded by the European Commission and promoted as part of the YOUTH projects. This project enables activities for young people to be carried out with the aim of strengthening their soft skills and entrepreneurial skills, increasing their competitiveness in the world of work with a dynamic and participatory approach at European level, involving Italy, Spain, Croatia, Malta and Romania.
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
YES is an Erasmus+ project that aims to promote social innovation, accelerate sustainability and have a positive impact on local communities, rural and urban communities by tackling the problems of youth depopulation, unemployment and climate change through a dynamic project aimed at young people. The project aims to empower NEET & youth workers by providing them with fundamental and innovative transferable skills, supplemented by social entrepreneurship tools and face-to-face boot camps, in order to improve their competitiveness and resilience in today's complex labour market.
Furthermore, the methodology and approach of the YES project is bottom-up, i.e. participatory and constructive. It is based on the active participation of beneficiaries and their needs, taking into account specific cases and difficulties that have arisen.
MAIN RESULTS:
YES project aims to achieve the following results:
- Increased Awareness of Social Entrepreneurship and Soft Skills
- Enhanced Soft Skills through Youth Engagement
- Innovative Training Methodology Developed on relevant skills in the job market
- In-Person YES Activities realised with Youth on Social Entrepreneurship
- Fostering a greater understanding of volunteering principle among youth, enabling them to appreciate its transformative learning potential in their communities and to peers-to-peers.
The project's activities will be organized in 4 work package to ensure a strong and clear foundation.
WP1 - YES Project Management
WP1 is fundamental for the correct management, coordination and quality monitoring of the entire YES project. The participants are the project partners themselves: the coordinator Isola Catania and the respective European partners Junior Achievement Malta (Malta), GEYC (Romania), IYP (Croatia), Associazione Giovani Iddocca (Italy) and Transeunte (Spain).
WP2 - YES Needs Analysis
WP2 is a preliminary collection of feedback on the learning and training needs of both young NEETs and Youth Workers. The soft skills most in demand in the labour market will be identified, starting with the beneficiaries, and then a concrete training programme will be developed based on the results.
WP3 - YES Training Programme for Youth Workers
WP3 involves the research and development of the YES training programme, which consists of two parts: one focusing on transversal skills and soft skills, and the other on social entrepreneurship. It is aimed at youth workers who work mainly with NEET beneficiaries. The programme also includes case studies and success stories of social enterprises from the respective project partner countries.
WP4 - YES-Up Programme and YES Dissemination
WP4 includes a series of in-person activities consisting of three days of training based on the YES training programme developed in WP3 at Isola Catania and in the respective partner countries of the project. In addition, the module aims to develop a promotion and engagement strategy for the beneficiaries of the YES project.
