Publication | Climate Change Ambassadors Methodology

The Climate Change Ambassadors Methodology is an innovative educational framework designed to empower young people to become proactive agents of change in the fight against climate change and disinformation. It was developed by a consortium of 4 non-governmental organizations working in the youth field in France, Latvia, Romania and Spain, under the framework of the CERV project DisinformACTION - Countering Climate Change Disinformation through youth E-participation (CERV-2022-CITIZENS-CIV-101081183).

The methodology has been tested with students and teachers in all 4 countries and improved continually through facilitator feedback, teacher reports, student questionnaires and a Methodology Improvement Bootcamp. It integrates best practices in environmental education and digital literacy, focusing on the intersection of climate science and media literacy. This approach ensures that participants are not only informed about climate issues but also equipped to combat misinformation and advocate for sustainable solutions in their communities.

Who can use it?

The Climate Change Ambassadors Methodology is designed for a broad range of users, including:

  • Teachers and educators: To integrate climate education into their curriculum, providing students with a deeper understanding of environmental issues and the skills to critically engage with media.
  • Youth Workers and NGOs: To conduct workshops and training sessions that empower young people to become climate advocates and digital activists.
  • Students and youth leaders: To lead community-based initiatives and campaigns that raise awareness and drive action on climate change.
  • Civic participation policymakers: To support the inclusion of climate literacy and digital activism in educational and community programs.
