Young participants from the "Constanța for YOUth!" project embarked on a remarkable journey to the heart of European democracy - Brussels. This study visit, designed to ignite passion for civic engagement and foster a deeper understanding of European values, offered an immersive experience rich in learning and inspiration.
The visit commenced with a thought-provoking debate at the European Parliament, where participants had the privilege of engaging with Romanian Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Under the theme "Young People as Pillars of Europe's Future: Collaboration in Promoting Innovation and Sustainability," discussions centered around the pivotal role of youth in shaping the continent's future and the imperative of collaborative efforts to drive innovation and sustainability forward.
Next on the itinerary was a visit to the ALDA Office - European Association for Local Democracy. Here, participants gained invaluable insights into the importance of grassroots democracy and the vital role of local communities in fostering a more inclusive and participatory society. Through engaging discussions and interactive sessions, they explored best practices in local governance and learned how to advocate for positive change at the community level.
The journey continued with guided tours of the House of European History and Parlamentarium, offering participants a captivating glimpse into the rich tapestry of European heritage and the intricate workings of the European Union. From the historical milestones that shaped the continent to the contemporary challenges facing European policymakers, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the values of unity, diversity, and solidarity that underpin the European project.
Throughout the study visit, participants were not mere observers but active agents of change, eager to absorb knowledge, exchange ideas, and forge meaningful connections.
