#EDYS20, an online event held under the Patronage of the European Parliament and part of the Global Citizens’ Dialogue on the Future of Internet project coordinated globally by Missions Publiques, gathered more than 300 people during the 3 days of activities: 200 Romanian participants and around 150 people from 35 countries for the international component.
The opening panel on October 8th gathered 7 speakers representing the European Parliament, civil society, private sector and academia, discussing the future of Internet Governance. The event was live streamed on Facebook, where it reached over 9000 people and 2.3k views.
What we’ve all witnessed over the last months with COVID has accelerated the digital transformation: we can not ignore the fact that our lives will be digital. Connectivity and access to the Internet are becoming more and more an issue of a basic fundamental right.

It was a very engaging discussion and a few of the topics that were addressed were the work of the European Parliament and European Commission in terms of regulating the field of AI, digital rights during the pandemic, what living in a digital society is like (the example of Estonia), civil society and its role in regulating the Internet, children's online rights and Internet governance matters.
The opening panel was followed by 2 days of productive workshops on the topics of internet governance, fake news, artificial intelligence, data and the future of the Internet dedicated exclusively to Romanian participants.
The project We, the Internet (Global Citizens' Dialogue on the Future of Internet) is coordinated globally by Missions Publiques and was implemented in Romania by GEYC. The participants had the chance to discuss several aspects related to the future of the Internet and be a part of the biggest citizens' deliberation in history.
Missions Publiques will interpret the data from 77 countries and produce a report which will be presented to the relevant stakeholders during the Internet Governance Forum 2020. The conclusions of the workshops will be published by GEYC after IGF 2020 on the project's website.
Several Changemakers got involved as facilitators of online workshops on the topic of Internet Governance. Over the course of 2 days, they interacted with approximately 200 Romanian participants and discussed topics such as fake news, personal data, disinformation, artificial intelligence.

#EDYS20, un eveniment online desfășurat sub Patronajul Parlamentului European și parte a proiectului Dialogul Global al Cetățenilor asupra Viitorului Internetului (We, the Internet) coordonat la nivel global de Missions Publiques, a adunat peste 300 de persoane în cele 3 zile de activități: 200 de participanți români și aproximativ 150 de persoane din 35 de țări pentru componenta internațională.
Panelul de deschidere din 8 octombrie a reunit 7 speakeri reprezentând Parlamentul European, societatea civilă, sectorul privat și mediul academic, discutând despre viitorul guvernării internetului. Evenimentul a fost transmis în direct pe Facebook, unde a ajuns la peste 9000 de persoane și are 2,3k vizionări.
A fost o discuție foarte antrenantă și câteva dintre subiectele abordate au fost demersurile Parlamentului European și ale Comisiei Europene în ceea ce privește reglementarea domeniului AI, drepturile digitale în timpul pandemiei, cum este viața într-o societate digitală (exemplu din Estonia), societatea civilă și rolul acesteia în reglementarea internetului, drepturile online ale copiilor și aspectele legate de guvernanța internetului.
Panelul de deschidere a fost urmat de 2 zile de ateliere productive pe subiectele guvernanței internetului, știrilor false, inteligenței artificiale, datelor și viitorului internetului, dedicate exclusiv participanților români. Mai mulți Changemakers s-au implicat ca facilitatori ai atelierelor online pe tema guvernanței internetului. Pe parcursul a 2 zile, au interacționat cu aproximativ 200 de participanți români.
Proiectul We, the Internet (Global Citizens 'Dialogue on the Future of Internet) este coordonat la nivel global de Missions Publiques și a fost implementat în România de GEYC. Participanții au avut șansa să discute mai multe aspecte legate de viitorul internetului și să facă parte din cea mai mare deliberare cetățenească din istorie, prima pe Internet la scară globală.
Missions Publiques va interpreta datele din 77 de țări și va produce un raport care va fi prezentat părților interesate relevante în cadrul Internet Governance Forum 2020. Concluziile atelierelor vor fi publicate de GEYC după IGF 2020 pe site-ul web al proiectului.
