GEYC10 Changemakers

Context

GEYC community emerged in 2010 as a platform for sharing and communication between its members. They can access exclusive opportunities of different kinds, over 1000/year. Community members can:

  • have priority to participate in European mobility projects coordinated by GEYC together with other members of the community;
  • have the possibility to obtain a certificate issued by GEYC to certify their volunteering;
  • socialize and improve their skills (languages, personal development, soft skills, teamwork, leadership);
  • have the opportunity to interact with other members of the GEYC community (possible cooperation and support);

In March 2020 we had our 10th anniversary, on which occasion we launched the "#GEYC10 Changemakers" contest. The idea behind the competition is to highlight success stories about community involvement and the impact of the activities in which GEYC Community members take part.

GEYC10 Changemakers

What do we do?

We look at our community members that managed to create a positive change in their community. Their applications have been analysed by both an independent jury and our community members.

Impact Report

Today, people need to be equipped with a variety of skills ranging from basic skills, such as literacy, numeracy and digital, to vocational or technical skills as well as entrepreneurial skills and transversal skills, such as foreign languages or the ability to learn and take initiative. It is widely known that formal education can not empower you with every skill you need, and this is where non-formal education and extracurricular activities come into play.

This Report mainly analyses the effect of European mobilities and extracurricular activities on young people’s skills and competences and how these can contribute to finding a job.

The #GEYC10 Changemakers competition and the Impact Report were organized within the KA2 Youth Workers 2.0 project, as the GEYC Community is the first digital youth community in Romania, and the purpose of this KA2 project is to promote the use of digital tools in working with young people.

Our updates

The Changemakers community is also a pool of experts in different fields who often get involved in our activities, share their experiences with the members of the GEYC Community and exchange good practices.
