We are marking the World NGOs Day - 27th of February by highlighting how NGOs can empower the change

Officially proposed and recognized in 2010, World NGO Day was declared in 2012 and first observed in 2014 by the UN, EU, Nordic Council leaders, and international organizations. It is acknowledged as an international day by the European Union.
World NGO Day, observed on February 27th, was established in the European Union and envisioned by Latvian-born British social entrepreneur and lawyer Marcis Skadmanis (23 years old at the time). Find out more ...

In our capacity as an active NGO in Romania, Europe and internally, GEYC is marking each year the importance of the NGOs, as part of our commitment to the society, also confirmed by the UN/ECOSOC Special Consultative Status. For this extent, we have organised a couple of activities as presented below, both online and offline.

Nevertheless, the campaign dedicated to celebrate the World NGOs Day, was led based on our current projects:

  • under Erasmus+ Youth accreditation, project number 2024-1-RO01-KA151-YOU-000208961, for the event in Cluj Napoca;
  • under European Solidarity Corps, project number 2023-1-RO01-ESC51-VTJ-000138350, for the events in Constanța, Năvodari and for the online activities;
