From 4th to 12th January 2025, GEYC community members were in Kolin, Czechia, to take part in the Erasmus+ Training Course "Make Sense". Hosted by CEFIG International, the program aimed to strengthen participants' critical thinking, media literacy, and problem-solving skills through interactive and innovative approaches.
Here’s what some of our participants had to say about this life-changing experience:
"Erasmus+ 'Make Sense' training was truly something special, different; for the first time at a Training Course, it made me change my point of view about projects and activism in youth. GEYC was very well organized, and the hosting NGO, too—they provided everything necessary to make us well-prepared. The trainers presented very abstract topics—like critical thinking, manipulation, misinformation—so easily through practical and interactive activities." - Poamăneagră Ștefania, GEYC Changemaker, Suceava
"The ‘Make Sense’ training course changed my perception and vision on many things, including how to run a youth project. The trainers, with their immense knowledge, conveyed concepts like algorithms, manipulation techniques, and critical thinking in an accessible and constructive manner. The participants, with their creative and multicultural backgrounds, fostered a perfect environment for collaboration and debate." - Adriana Ursachi, ESC Mentor, Bucharest
"Attending the Erasmus+ training course ‘Make Sense’ was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in a long time. The sessions on media literacy, misinformation, biases, and decision-making were eye-opening and engaging. Beyond the training, exploring Czech culture and forming deep connections with participants from across Europe made this experience truly unforgettable." - Stefan Chiriacopol, Participant "Câmpina Europeană", Câmpina
This training course went beyond skill-building, creating a space where participants could engage in meaningful dialogue, develop actionable strategies, and celebrate cultural diversity. The visits to Prague, Kolin, and Kutná Hora offered a unique insight into Czech history and traditions, enhancing the intercultural aspect of the project.
As a Youthpass-certified initiative, "Make Sense" empowered our youth to not only think critically but also to act responsibly and confidently in today’s digital age. GEYC is proud to have been part of this impactful experience, and we look forward to collaborating on more projects with CEFIG International within the Erasmus+ framework. Since 2018, we collaborated in 16 projects with CEFIG, more to come soon! Here’s to building a future shaped by critical thinkers and active changemakers!
