On the 18th of December we went to the Technology High School 'Dimitrie Gusti' to explore how 22 young people view different places from Bucharest in a more sustainable, beautiful and inclusive way!
The session started with a discussion about sustainability and urban regeneration. Together with the participants, we explored the meanings of these. After that, they thought of places in Bucharest they would like to spend time in and why, having in mind the two concepts and how they can make them more beautiful. The youth mentioned the following places they would like to change:
- Izvor Park
- The Old Town area
- Different neighbourhoods from Bucharest
After identifying the places they would like to make more sustainable, beautiful and inclusive, they have been put in pairs. This gave the young people a chance to work together with their peers to design different models for public spaces in Bucharest, focusing on the NEB principles. They used creative, non-formal learning methods and improved their teamwork, planning and creative thinking skills, while also learning more about sustainability.
Are you excited to see who will be the winner for the NEBULA Contest?
Stay tuned to our page to see when we will announce the winners!
The workshop took place under the umbrella of the "New European Bauhaus in Urban and Rural Areas" (NEBULA) project, which aims to spark the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of young people, turning them into NEB actors. Its goal is the practical application of the European Green Deal, transforming cities and rural outskirts into places for living and enjoyment, including cultural and social aspects.
