It's a wrap: European Fellowship on Youth Training and Education powered by Digital (EFYTED)


On February 29th, we wrapped-up EFYTED - European Fellowship on Youth Training & Education powered by Digital, the first activity from a series organized by GEYC (RO) & its partners  - Asul (BE), EuroMuévete (ES), Eurosud (IT), Growth Hub (GR), Instytut Przeciwdziałania Wykluczeniom (PL), Rozvojová agentúra (SK), Zarika Association (BG), in the frame of Erasmus+ Accreditation 2023 (2023-1-RO01-KA151-YOU-000138290), which aimed to equip youth workers with training and facilitation competences, raising the quality of their work. 

This blended mobility included:

  • Bootcamp: 15 - 23 November 2023, Benalmádena, Málaga, Spain, attended by 26 youth workers from 8 countries
  • an online training course: 15 January - 29 February 2024, attended by 30+ youth workers from 8 countries
Objectives:
  • O1: raising competences among youth workers on how to plan, implement and assess the learning process for youth, using non-formal education methodology
  • O2: increasing the know-how of youth workers on online and offline tools of engaging youth in non-formal education programs
  • O3: sharing good practices at European and international level on training and facilitation, in order to increase the quality of their work
  • O4: fostering collaboration and partnerships at European and international level, between NGOs and youth workers, by building a pool of trainers
The digital component included:
  • 6 modules with theoretical inputs, resources and asynchronous tasks in a Google Classroom learning space, where participants could explore what is online facilitation & training, through various digital tools for icebreakers, getting to know each other and team building activities, facilitated dialogues and debates, skill building activities and reflection.  
  • 6 live meetings with 4 of them also being an opportunity for practice for 7 participants who wanted to try out different mini-workshops and get feedback. 
In one of the live sessions, we also welcomed a special guest, Samir Akacha, one of the participants in DigUpSkill training course, organized in the framework of the Erasmus+ accreditation activities 2021 (2021-1-RO01-KA151-YOU-000005219). He presented fanzines, through a short webinar developed and implemented as a dissemination activity after the training course, in 2022. 

What's next:
  • Some of the EFYTED participants are going to have their facilitation practice during RiseUpEU: Empowering Youth Voices in EU elections (Cuevas Bajas, Spain, March 2024) and SustainSpark - Initiative for  a better world (Barletta, Italy, May 2024) youth exchanges.
  • The ones who successfully completed the course will be invited to attend the EDYS24 Seminar in Bucharest (July 2024), which will focus on enhancing youth participation through three dimensions: digital, social & green. Some of them are also going to have a practice opportunity, leading some of the workshops. 
  • The youth exchanges and the seminar are also organized in the frame of Erasmus+ Accreditation 2023.
