Call for applicants: European Fellowship in the field of Human Rights Education

GEYC is selecting 3 Romanian participants, to take part in "United Youth Combating Hate" Internship. The main aim of this project is aimed at developing skills in the fight against hate speech by training in human rights. Deadline: 1 July 2015

United Youth Combating Hate is a long-term training program for youth workers and leaders.

Period: 20 June 2015-20 December 2015

Available places:

Selection criteria: 
-between 18-35 years old
-personal and professional motivation
-language skills: english
-youth leaders, youth workers, coordinators with previous experience in "No hate speech"
-GEYC volunteers and GEYC Community applicants will have priority to participate

General information:
“United Youth Combating Hate” is long-term opportunity to increase the capacity of volunteers, coordinators and professional youth workers and youth leaders. The project has the following objectives: to Increase the competencies of youth leaders and youth workers in the field of anti-hate speech and human rights, to stimulate cooperation in the youth field and promote the organization of more initiatives and projects in the field of human rights and no- hate speech, to stimulate organizing more local initiatives in partner countries and thus inform more young people about the "No hate speech" movement on a European scale, to Increase the international dimension of the work with young people, particularly in relation to training on human rights and anti-hate, to ensure the long-term and sustainable improvement of the quality of the work of partner organizations in this field.

The project is set up on 3 stages:

1. Training Course in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria (17-24 August 2015)
-training and preparation
2. Local dissemination of the activity that took place Bulgaria (August-December 2015)
-the participants will have to organise follow-up activites (it can be from local events to online initiatives)
-the topic should be "No hate speech"
-GEYC will support you through the whole process (you will work with the Mobility Center Responsible)
3. Final evaluation Seminar in Georgia (15-20 December 2015)
-you will present your local activities

What you will gain?
-your volunteering contract will be regulated by the Romanian law of volunteering
-a position within our Mobility Center where you can benefit from the expertise of our team
-a youth pass certificate at the end of each mobility
-at request we can give a certificate that will atest your competency during the internship


Timeline:


  • until 1 July 2015: submitting the application form
  • by 2st of July: selection of participants, notifications and confirmations (paying the participation fee - please notice that the participation fee is non-reimbursable) 
    Note: if you won't receive an e-mail by 6th of July 2015, it means that we found other suitable candidates for this project. 
  • by 3th of July: arranging the travel details for the mobilities (please be ready to cover your travel costs) feel free to check geyc.ro/flights for the current price level. GEYC will support you throughout the booking process and the reimbursement procedure;

  • Financial details about the mobility in Bulgaria:
    The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission: 
    • 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs; 
    • Transport cost: the cheapest way possible (only by bus/train)
    Financial details about the mobility in Georgia:
    The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission: 
    • 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs; 
    • Transport cost: the cheapest way possible (plane and other means of transport) - tbc
    Participants will be required to: 
    • co-finance GEYC's administrative costs related to this project (the amount covers all project activities): standard rate: 300 RON and discounted rate: 200 RON (for GEYC Community members). GEYC active volunteers will have their co-financement rate covered by our organisation. The co-financement will be paid in RON, by bank transfer after the participants are selected. Please do not pay any fee before you receive the confirmation e-mail.
    • cover a participantion fee to the organisers in Bulgaria (20 EUR) and Georgia (20 EUR) at the trainings
    • (if needed) cover transport cost - only the amount exceeding 180 EUR and 275 EUR
    • (if needed) cover medical insurance (for Bulgaria you can use your European Health Card); 
    • (if needed) cover any other personal costs.



    Relevant information 
    • In order to start their travel for the mobilities, Romanian participants should own a valid ID card or passport.
    • Arrangements regarding medical insurance are the responsibility of the participants.
    • In order to be reimbursed, Romanian participants should start their travel from Romania.
    • Please make sure you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of GEYC European mobility programs before you apply.
