GEYC is selecting 8 Romanian participants to take part in the project “Alcohol, cigarette and drug addiction” European youth exchange that will take place in Beşikdüzü District (Trabzon), Turkey, from 11th until 25th of July 2015.

About the project:
In this project, there will be 8 participants - totally 40 participants - from 5 different countries including Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Ukraine and Turkey. The project will last 13 days between 11-25 July 2015. It is about kinds of drug addictions, circumstances that push people into addiction, symptoms of addiction situation and its detrimental effects on individuals’ bodies and their social lifes, thinking about ways to solve the addiction problems, how to develop empathy with addicted people and help them overcome these problems. There will be brainstorming activities, discussions, verbal lectures, group works and some other activities including six thinking hats technique. These activities will help the participants to expand their knowledge through thinking over the addiction problem, organizing thoughts about how to cope with addiction, sharing their own thoughts in their group, discussing the circumstances that lead to addiction, giving comments on the given situations, stories. Therefore, they will take responsibility for their learning and generating their own knowledge actively.

-GEYC volunteers and GEYC Community applicants will have priority to participate;
-personal and professional motivation
-age between 18-26 years old
Structure
- submitting the application form till all the places are filled (the call will be closed when all the participants will confirm their participation). Selection procedure: first come, first served.
- after confirmation, participants will have to pay the participation fee - please notice that the participation fee is non-reimbursable
- arranging the travel details (please be ready to cover your travel costs), feel free to check geyc.ro/flights for the current price level. At the moment of the call, a round-trip flight to Trabzon costs 230 EURO (because of the summer season). GEYC will support you throughout the booking process and the reimbursement procedure;
- between 11-25 of July: the youth exchange will take place.
Financial details
The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission:
- 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs;
- Transport cost up to 170 EUR per participant.
Participants will be required to cover:
- a participation fee covering administrative costs for this project to GEYC (the fee will be paid in RON, by bank transfer at the exchange rate given by the ING Bank for the day of payment; the fee will be paid after you get a confirmation through e-mail. Please don't pay any fee before you receive the confirmation e-mail: 30 EUR for GEYC Community (please note that for this call we will consider the members that joined the Community before April, 24th, 2015) applicants and 50 EUR for other applicants (GEYC active volunteers are not required to pay the participation fee);
- a fee of 20 EURO to the organisers;
- travel costs above the limit of 170 EUR. At the moment of the call, a round-trip flight to Trabzon costs 230 EURO (because of the summer season). GEYC will support you through this process.
- passport expenses (no visa is required to enter Turkey)
- (if needed) medical insurance;
- (if needed) any other personal costs.
Relevant information
- In order to start their travel, Romanian participants should own a valid passport (valid=available for at least 6 months starting from the departure day). If you need a new/renewed passport please find out more information here. Passport cost is not subject of reimbursement.
- Arrangements regarding medical insurance are the responsibility of the participants.
- In order to be reimbursed, Romanian participants should start their travel from Romania.
- Please make sure you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of GEYC European mobility programs before you apply.
- Bring clothes (sport shoes, sport swear, swimming suits etc.) which you consider most comfortable for the temperature of 25-30 degrees Celsius. Clothes that can be used for dance, theatre, outdoor activities, party nights, swimming and so on.
- The Romanian group will be asked to prepare a short oral and visual presentation about the organisation, cultural presentations and intercultural evening.
- For the 20 EURO fee you will have the chance to make two full day trips, arranged by the organisers, where you will see historical and natural places around Trabzon. Also, in the same amount you will have 1 surprise day.
