Releasing the Methodological Guide for the KA2 Project: Green Cities of YOUth

The “Green Cities of YOUth: increasing the role of young people in the development of sustainable cities” project is contributing in achieving several of the objectives set in the 2030 Agenda, specifically:
  • SDG 7 - Affordable and non-polluting energy
  • SDG 11 - Sustainable cities and communities
  • SDG 12 - Responsible production and consumption
  • SDG 13 - Climate action
  • SDG 15 - Terrestrial ecosystems

The main aim of the project ”Green Cities of YOUth” is to empower young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, through their involvement in the process of environmental improvement in their localities, using environmental awareness as a tool for integrating this group. To be more specific, the objective is to also facilitate the conversion of European towns and / or neighborhoods of less than 15,000 inhabitants into sustainable cities, involving local youth in the process of change. In doing so, we are making the citizens aware of the importance of individual effort for global change.

To ensure we achieve the goal and make it transferable to others, we created the methodological guide. Through the guide, the aim is to assist and facilitate sustainable urban development to reconcile social and economic interests, satisfying the needs of present generations without jeopardizing those of future generations, through the involvement, inclusion, training, and motivation of local youth. In the guide you can find more guidelines and steps necessary to the implementation of different measures mentioned.

This guide is targeted to reach the local authorities, small businesses, civil society entities, and citizens from localities or neighborhoods with fewer than 15,000 inhabitants who want to implement sustainability measures in their entities/communities.
