The ChildACT+ Romania National Report explores how children and young people currently participate in public decision-making in Romania, looking at both the legal and institutional framework and how participation works in practice. Drawing on desk research, interviews, focus groups, and local-level evidence, the report maps existing participation mechanisms, identifies key barriers and inclusion gaps, and highlights promising approaches already being implemented across the country. It also outlines priority reforms needed to make children’s participation more consistent, meaningful, inclusive, and better connected to actual public decisions.
