In a socio-political climate across Eastern Europe where women's rights and marginalized groups frequently face systemic pushback, Alina stands out as a transformative and fearless force for change. Through her dual role as the President of Asociația ALUZIVA and as a leading digital creator, she has masterfully bridged the gap between online advocacy and on-the-ground, life-saving humanitarian aid.
Our decision to put her forward for this international recognition is rooted in her measurable, systemic impact. She has repeatedly proven that digital platforms can be used not just for awareness, but for drafting legislation, raising funds, and shifting national narratives.
Why We Nominated Alina
As Strategic Director for the "Parteneriat Civil ACUM" campaign, Alina spearheaded a historic movement. In just three months, she united over 90 NGOs and public figures, gathering a record 100,000+ signatures for the legal recognition of all cohabiting couples, which she personally submitted to the Romanian Chamber of Deputies.
A key voice in the "My Voice, My Choice" European Citizens’ Initiative, Alina's viral content mobilized thousands to sign for safe abortion access across the EU. She has represented Romanian women at the European Parliament and courageously defended women's bodily autonomy against far-right narratives on national television.
Tackling root causes early, Alina developed "Violența nu e FUN", an interactive psycho-educational workshop deployed in high schools across 5 counties. The program equips youth with practical tools to understand sexual consent, gaslighting, grooming, and bystander intervention.
Through Asociația ALUZIVA, she translates clicks into bricks. Initiatives include renovating rural schools ("Școli cum TREBUIE"), running a shelter for domestic violence survivors ("Mame fără PAUZĂ"), managing Ukraine emergency relief featured on CNN, and opening Romania's first charity shop inside a major mall.
Alina exemplifies the modern feminist leader: resilient under intense public scrutiny, intersectional in her methods, and deeply committed to structural change. We are honored to champion her for the 2027 Feminism Now! Award.
