What is #EDCEWeek26?
The digital landscape is evolving rapidly, and our youth need the right skills to navigate it safely, critically, and responsibly. Following the massive success of last year’s campaign—which engaged over 100 partners across 15 countries—this pan-European initiative aims to expand its continental footprint.
To learn more about the vision behind the campaign, visit the Official #EDCEWeek26 Website.
Main Topics for 2026:
- Critical Thinking & Media Literacy: Combating disinformation and fake news.
- Digital Rights & Responsibilities: Understanding our civic duties and rights online.
- Online Safety & Well-being: Protecting personal data and balancing screen time.
- Participation & Inclusion: Bridging the digital divide and fostering democratic engagement.
A Special Message from the European Commission
We are deeply honored to feature a special video message from Ms. Ana Gallego Torres, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers. This European Commission department is responsible for EU policy on justice, consumer rights, and gender equality.
In this video, Ms. Gallego Torres speaks about the critical importance of Digital Citizenship Education (DCE) in today's society and wishes our network a successful campaign!
When Should You Host Your Activity?
The official campaign week runs from September 14 to 20, 2026. However, if you have events planned slightly outside these dates that fit the theme, you can still register them as part of the movement!
We Give You Everything You Need
You do not have to start from scratch. We have prepared an extensive hub of free materials to help you plan, organize, and disseminate your event:

- European-Level Visibility: Your organization will be officially featured as a partner on our website and on the continental Map of Activities.
- Direct Policy Impact: Data and outcomes from your activities will be compiled into the final European Impact Report. This report is presented directly to decision-makers at the Council of Europe and EU institutions to advocate for structural priorities in digital education.
- Official Recognition: Receive an official European Certificate of Recognition for your contribution.
- Exclusive VIP Invitation: The most active and impactful partners will receive a special invitation to present their results at the European Digital Youth Summit (EDYS) in Bucharest (November 19-21, 2026).
