YES Project
After a first year dedicated to understanding the needs of young people and youth workers,
the YES consortium is now developing practical learning resources for
employability and social entrepreneurship.
We are currently refining the training programmes and invite you to help us improve them through your feedback.
During the first implementation year of
YES: Youth Engagement and Employability for Success through Social Entrepreneurship,
partners across Europe worked with young people and youth workers to understand what makes
the transition towards employment and entrepreneurship difficult.
That research phase has already been covered in our
first-year YES recap →
This time, we are focusing on what came next:
turning those needs into practical training tools.
💼
Finding a job
Lack of experience and transversal skills emerged as key barriers for young people entering the labour market.
💡
Starting an initiative
Young people highlighted a lack of practical guidance and entrepreneurial skills, together with a strong fear of failure.
🧩
Supporting young people
Youth workers asked for more relevant, interactive tools and better ways of connecting learning with real opportunities.
The next step
Two training programmes built around real needs
Based on the findings, the partnership has been developing two complementary resources
that youth workers and organisations can use to create more practical and engaging
learning experiences with young people.
Training Programme 01
YES Training Programme for Youth Employment
The first programme focuses on the transversal and soft skills that young people
need to navigate today's labour market.
It goes beyond simply explaining how to look for a vacancy or prepare a CV.
Instead, it provides youth workers with practical activities that can help young people
recognise their strengths, become more autonomous and practise competencies that are
transferable across different jobs and professional environments.
The programme supports learning around areas such as:
✓ Self-awareness
✓ Communication
✓ Teamwork
✓ Problem-solving
✓ Adaptability
✓ Organisation
✓ Professional interaction
✓ Navigating opportunities
Training Programme 02
YES Training Programme for Social Aspiring Entrepreneurs
The second programme focuses on helping young people move
from an initial idea towards a more concrete entrepreneurial initiative with social impact.
The needs analysis showed that interest in entrepreneurship is not always matched by
access to practical guidance, relevant tools or confidence. The programme therefore
translates entrepreneurial concepts into interactive activities that can be used
in non-formal education settings.
Young people can explore topics including:
✓ Identifying opportunities
✓ Developing an idea
✓ Creative thinking
✓ Social impact
✓ Resource management
✓ Entrepreneurial thinking
✓ Presenting an initiative
✓ Learning from failure
Your feedback matters
Help us improve the YES Training Programmes
The programmes are still being refined, and this is the moment when your input can make a real difference.
We invite young people, youth workers, trainers, educators and professionals working
in employability or entrepreneurship to review the materials and tell us what works,
what could be improved and what may still be missing.
Your feedback will help us:
✓ identify which activities are most relevant;
✓ check whether the tools are clear and practical;
✓ identify missing topics or competencies;
✓ improve the activities before their next implementation phase.
Your responses will directly contribute to the next revision of the training materials.
Why now?
Feedback is being collected while the resources can still be reviewed and improved,
rather than after the programme has already been finalised.
Why participate?
First-hand perspectives help us understand whether the proposed activities are genuinely
usable in youth work and relevant to young people's current realities.
What comes next?
The feedback collected through this consultation will support the consortium in reviewing
and strengthening the training materials before moving further into implementation.
YES will also continue with in-person learning activities for young people and youth workers,
creating opportunities to put employability and entrepreneurial competencies into practice
through interactive learning experiences.
Have a few minutes?
Help us make these resources more relevant, practical and useful for the young people
and youth workers who will use them.
