MIRAI Program: a new opportunity door for young people

GEYC arrives at Japan [between 4th-10th of October] through our collegue, Cristina-Elena BALACEANU, who will take part at MIRAI2017 Program, together with other 165 students from Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus. 


MIRAI is a short-term youth exchange program which invites 166 graduate/undergraduate students from Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus to interact and exchange ideas through lectures, workshops, visits and other events.

The objectives of her exchange will be the following:
1. to promote mutual-understanding amoung young people
2. to promote a global understanding of Japan’s economy, society, history, diverse culture, politics and foreign policy 
3. to disseminate information about Japan and its learning opportunities.

GEYC and PRISMA European Network will support Cristina in achieving her communicational objectives.

About the programme:
Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs is a programme launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. It promotes people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the various nations of the AsiaPacific, North America, Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean and it encourages an understanding of Japan’s economy, society, history, diverse culture, politics and diplomatic relations among participants.
The Europe's regional component of this programme is called MIRAI [Mutual-understanding, Intellectual Relations and Academic exchange Initiative]. It also have a second meaning in the Japanese culture: “MIRAI” (未来) (pronounced ”me-rye”) means “Future”.
