Call for 15 Romanian participants: Youth Exchange in Cosenza, Italy (21-30 September 2015)

GEYC is selecting 15 Romanian participants, to take part in the "Foodology" European project that will take place in Cosenza, Italy from 21 to 30 September 2015. The main aim of the youth exchange is to counter the spread of bad eating habits among young people, guiding them towards a responsible consumption and respect for nature and health. About the project:
Foodology.eu is a youth exchange project, created by Zagreus Cultural Association, based in Italy. The project aims is to transfer to the participants specific skills related to the theme of nutrition and sustainable agriculture, making them rediscover the importance of the rural traditions, the modern laboratories of permaculture and synergistic agriculture, the variety of products of the Mediterranean diet, as well as G.A.S. (ethical purchasing groups) and the concept of km 0 for short chains food, associations that deal with the activities of recovery and cataloguing of original seeds, the activities of Slow Food Association.
The projects aims is to develop further languages, intercultural and digital skills, usefull to implement the dedicated blog www.foodology.eu, a platform that will contain the stories and good dietary practices and green economy that young people participating in this project will meet during the theoretical panel and workshops organised for the youth exchange.
The editorial structure of the blog will be defined and illustrated by the leaders and will include videos, text, music, interviews, photographs, illustrtions and comics. The materials will be created and organised by the participants who will be dived into specific Task Teams on the basis of their abilities. At the end of the youth exchange, the dedicated blog www.foodology.eu will be implemented thanks to the follow-up involving other EU countries, in order to create an instrument for effective information on good dietary practices and the green economy whitin the reach of the young Europeans.

Available places:
-14 participants between 18-30 years old
-one group leader with no age limit

There will be two group leaders but only one will be selected thorugh this call, the other one being Gabriel Brezoiu, the 16th person that will participate in this project.

Gabriel BREZOIU (Personal Blog | CV Linkedin) is a founding member and General Manager at GEYCSince 2008, Gabriel has managed various social projects in the nonprofit sector, planed and delivered training programs mainly on soft and project management skills development topics.
Gabriel is working with Erasmus+ projects since 2009. As a group leader he was involved in 2 youth exchanges in Italy, one in France, one in Greece and one in Bulgaria. Moreover, he is also a SALTO Youth | Trainer.

Selection criteria:
-18-30 years old (the group leader has no age limit)
-medium command of English language
-personal and professional motivation
-gender balance
-the connection with the main topic
-GEYC volunteers and GEYC Community applicants will have priority to participate

The selections process will be first come, first served based on priority, motivation, gender balance etc.

Structure:


  • submitting the application form until all participants are selected (there is no given deadlline, the call will be closed after all the confirmations)
  • selection of participants, notifications and confirmations (paying the participation fee - please notice that the participation fee is non-reimbursable; the fee will paid within 24h after receiving the confirmation e-mail) 
    Note: if you won't receive an e-mail, it means that we found other suitable candidates for this project. 
  • arranging the travel details (please be ready to cover your travel costs) feel free to check geyc.ro/flights for the current price level. GEYC will support you throughout the booking process and the reimbursement procedure; 

  • Financial details:
    The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission: 
    • 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs; 
    • Transport cost up to 170 EUR per participant
    Participants will be required to cover: 
    • a participation fee covering administrative costs for this project (the fee will be paid in RON, by bank transfer; the fee will be paid after the participants are selected). Please don't pay any fee before you receive the confirmation e-mail): 135 RON (30 EURO) for GEYC Community (please note that for this call we will consider the members that joined the Community before 17 August 2015) applicants and  225 RON (50 EUR) for other applicants (GEYC active volunteers are not required to pay the participation fee); The fee is calculated at a fixed exchage rate (EUR=4.5 RON) 
    • (if needed) transport cost - only the amount exceeding 170 EUR
    • (if needed) medical insurance; 
    • (if needed) any other personal costs.
    Relevant information 
    • In order to start their travel, Romanian participants should own a valid ID card or passport.
    • Arrangements regarding medical insurance are the responsibility of the participants.
    • In order to be reimbursed, Romanian participants should start their travel from Romania.
    • Please make sure you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of GEYC European mobility programs before you apply.
